I'm going to hunt WY, but why not I live here. I'll hunt the NW part of the state-Cody/Meeteetse area.
Headed out tomorrow to watch some guys film a pistol hunt for antelope on South Pass. Then we're headed north for bears and hopefully a grouse or two.
for every law thats passed - alittle freedom dies

BeaverJack - He can talk it up all he wants and it won't increase the number of hunters in Wyoming. Nonresident tags are fixed in number, so unless they move there and become residents they'll have to take their chances in the draw like the rest of us.
I'll be out in October to hunt mule deer and antelope. I applied for and didn't draw elk, moose, and sheep. If they don't raise the fees too much I'll stay in the draws until I get the moose and sheep tags, I have four points for each.
If I have any pics worth seeing I'll post them.

Yeah Ru, I keep hopin' they'll cut them non-resident tags back to 10% 'stead of the 25% they got now. Then, they can start talkin' up the -40 degree Januarys an' 9 month winters to keep the pansies from movin' here. Gotta do sumthin'. Case you fellers ain't noticed, we're runnin' outta good huntin' country.

if i thought my topic was in any way going to influence more people to hunt in wy i would not have posted it. the nonres tags are a fixed number and filled every year. and quite frankly nobody wants to live here except for a few of us that are gluttens for punishment besides the fact that my little dollar post does not compare to the million or so dollars all of the guides spend on advertising.
i just wanted to see a few of the trophies that the guys i bs with on this forum ended up taking this year

LMAO Bj!!!
I'll be their in 9 days!!!
You talk cold -40 pfft
You talk loosing hunting areas. Man I cant wait till we fix our lisc quota's up here! Its just a matter of time for Moose and the clocks ticking overtime! Doubt it will happen for bou, even if it did, it should stay pretty liberal (some areas are 5 a DAY for residents!)
You will start seeing it in southeast first I would believe, or something to that effect, registration where it closes after a certain number of bears is reached, (north part of Kuiu island black bears) I am sure POW will follow suit! Once the residents see the effectiveness of these "western" laws, I would be hard pressed that Alaska wont follow suit, atleast on Moose, with the amount of pressure we are recieving for the big brute, most of the really QUALITY hunts are already drawing as of the past few years.
The next question is just how to get rid of this subsistence crap! To many hypocritical laws in the subsistence side of the house for me to even want to think of keeping it!
So before you get your jollys off, look at what YOU also maybe loosing by your antics. A simple proposal and this state can change real quick! <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>!
See ya in elk country.........
