Brother's first elk!!!
Elk weighed in at a little over 850 lbs by the time we got to Texas. So my guess of 1000 was off, but that also included the head and his innards!!! I might have embellished him having a trunk with large ears and tusks!!! Sorry!
Either way, best/biggest elk I have ever seen, but that is because of "who" and "where", not what!
Trophy is in the eye of the beholder .......and we beheld!!!
Bull was shot by my brother on his twin sons first birthday! Didn't get him out of his wife's doghouse though. The tables will turn though as those boys will be with us in a few years on their birthday!!!
EKM.......I have several camp photos of our setup with new homemade wood stoves in use. Just finding time to get them out here while trying to focus again on making a living is like a dog chasing his tail right now!!!
To those of you in Colorado, thanks so much for allowing a group of TX boys to enjoy what your state has to offer. We surely did enjoy our time and look forward to next year!!! I cannot imagine a prettier time of year to enjoy what God has given to us. In a time and place like that, even the most hardened among us must give pause and thanks to the powers that be.
