can any one tell me if a 3" 00 buck shot will work on 150-200 lbs hogs at about 10-40 yards ????????????????? And if not wat should i use??

Yeah, it will kill em. But if you plan on killin em quickly you better up your load. Get some slugs, much more effective. If you're close enough, right behind the ear. If not, just like a deer. But remember, the boars have a plate around their vitals that no buckshot is gonna get through. Good luck man.

thanks for all the replys but if i did use slugs what slugs would work best in a mossberg mavrick 28'' 3'' chamber ........what choke should i use if i am shooting slugs ??

Im honestly not very familiar with the Mavrick shotgun, but I always used an open choke when shooting any size slugs. They should shoot fine out to 75-80 yards. And the size of the slug: you really can't go too big.
