i know head shots arent smart....theres 1million hunters out on the first day of deer season.....you try to find a spot theres noone else.....we walk 2 miles in no lie.......some years theres noone around.....but last year they followed our drag marks out and found our spot....and we had guys on our laps....i mean if i was depseratly trying to kill a deer id follow the drag marks to where you seen 2 guys dragging 2 does and a 6pt from opening morning by 9am back to their spot too.....hornady actually makes a IB SST......unless im reading wrong.....SST-IB.....sst interbond bullets......core is locked to the jacket......they also make the normal SST....i was talking about the SST-IB....sounds like its made to expand but stay together with the interbonding.......they also have the softpoint IB bullets......but im asking about the SST-ib......i think we are all a little confused lol...........if they do what they say i thnk they will work....but ive never shot a bear...........thats why im here.....

Mauser, Hornady did originally call the IB the SST-IB, however has since changed it to the SST and IB to eliminate confussion. My only point was if you buy ammo now with the SST it is no different than a NBT, just wanted you to be aware of it! The soft point tip is actually the interlock not interbond, again totally different bullets.

In any regard Hornady IB (I think the 180 interlock sp would also suffice), Nosler AB or Nosler Partition should do what your wanting. I have shot deer and moose with the Hornady interlock & Nosler Partitions bullet and never had any problems, of course with todays new bonded offerings it just adds more to the kettle.[&:]

I agree with Bobby stick to the vitals and higher % odds when choosing your target. I am not an advocate of any neck or head shot as the marigin of error is to high and a slight miss will lead to a boat load of suffering for that animal.
