Like RMQuad said, it all depends on the weather and the level of bear activity. If its still winter-like in the early season bear activity will be low (maybe non-existent), however you get first pick of the bears that are out. Go at the end of the season and many of good bears may already have been taken by other hunters in the earlier weeks. It's kind of a crap shoot. Personally I would hunt the mid or late part of the season because at least I know I'll probably see bears, this may not be the case early in the season.

RNZ......I think I'll take your advice. I am planning on hunting New Brunswick. I will check with the outfitter regarding weather. Do you guys know anything about the bear hunting in New Brunswick?

I've heard good things from a couple of different sources about Fundy Outfitters in N.B. Check them out at www.fundyoutfitters.com

hi Geronimo, been guiding for a few years here in NB, and the best time for big bears is during the rut, and make no mistake its the best time for a trophy, usualy its around the 4 june to the 15 of june, this time is prime time, but any other time is good too, because its full of bears, i cant help you this year for bear because i am fully booked with 35 hunters, but if you want some info, send me an email, [email protected]
