RE: what is better hunting or fishing
I know a fellow that goes down to a big river in the fall and casts out a baited bottom rig and sets his rod on a forked stick on his right side. On his left side he has a forked stick to hold his 12 ga. up off the mud. He sits in a folding chair between them. Any waterfowl flying up or down the river are fair game for his scatter gun and there are several sp. of fish in the river at the time that could bite.
Ask him which he likes better fishin' or huntin'.
Have another friend who was good friends with the manager of a small town golf course with a big lake beside it. Ground squirrels were a problem on the course. My buddy had a .22 rifle, a fishing rod and a seven iron in his golf bag. As he played the course with only the 7 iron he would shoot "gophers" along the way. When he got near the lake he would cast for the hungery pike in it. Now that would be my kind of "tryathalon"

To answer your question... isn't Fishing like hunting? Dont you have to hunt to fish os you can hook them? I fly fish and someother that flyfish too, if you just sit back a watch them They sneak in, just like hunters. They scout ponds, lakes, rivers, Oceans.. To me fishing is hunting in water.
