Hey Otis I'm the hunter that hunted with huntnmuleys. Shot my goat at 341 yards using 175gr core/lock. I was hunting mule deer also that's why I was using that size of bullet. You are going to have alot of FUN. car

I love to hunt antelope. And I love to eat pronghorn. And I hate it when people call them goats.

I have mostly used a .264 Win. Mag. and 140 grain bullets to shoot antelope. Most shots were 200 yds. or less. I have shot a couple with a .243 and 100 grain slugs and a couple with muzzle loaders. The last buck I shot was from a box blind at a water hole. The shot was about 66 paces and I used a smoke pole.

Have a great hunt.

Robin

noway and the others hit the nail on the head

(I am not sure of your shooting abilities)i would suggest alot of long range practice speed goats are small and the high desert can challenge any bodies shooting abilities

if you hit one in the leg (and no vitals) they are very near impossible to recover as they can change zip codes in seconds

I practice to 550 yards at the range and wont take a shot at an animal over 250 yards( the extra yardage is just in case the animal needs another sleeping pill
