world record whitetail

It is an impressive deer, but what gets me is that Zaft talks about all the 3-d shoots he competes in yet he apparantly didn't make a very good shot on this buck, which goes to show that even the best foam shooters aren't necassarily that good in the field in real life situations. It is a shame that there is so much question about this whole story.

IT IS NOT A WORLD RECORD YET !!!
Besides, there is not proof that its the same deer Zaft killed, or that his arrow even killed it (coyotes might have killed it). His NAW article said the coyotes ate the whole carcass and cape, his Bowhunter article said just the cape and opened the body cavity up. No blood trail, more than a day after the shot, he even said the animal appeared to run off with no signs of a lethal hit , and besides guys, the landowner could have easily claimed this deer as a pickup, legally and ethcially, yet he gave it to Zaft. What does that make it ? A pickup, and not a true harvest.

Yeah, I agree, but who really cares? P&Y is a club, no more, no less, and they can do whatever they want with their club. I hope it get's recognized, I think it's a shame that a buck like that may wind up like the Beatty buck, unrecognized and soon forgotten by most.

When you hear about someone shooting a BIG DEER what is the first thing you think of?............................................... ...........................................Is it "WOW, great buck, good for him"?
Or is it "I bet he cheated some how, he must have done somthing wrong, what can I nit-pick on? Lets assume the worst possible senario.

Hell of a point Duff...Hunters are the most pessimistic group of folks around.
If the story I've heard is true, I feel the deer shouldn't count. However, the Beatty buck wasn't killed all that far from where I live...and that poor fella's name was drug through the ringer. He was accused of every type of cheating possible.

I can see why some people might be skeptical
after the fiasco of a few years back where
someone put together a huge rack and somehow
put it on another deers head then claimed he
had a new world. Started making money off of
it right away.
