RE: Another moutain lion attack

I never said anything about lion killing antis. Just have to have a few more attacks so the ignorant public who thinks lions are cute like bambi will realize that wildlife needs to be controlled. Hunting is one of the most effective ways to control and raise funding for conservation at the same time. If you are cruising this site and see my posts you need to know that if you have never been up close to wildlife then be careful of what you vote for or who you listen to. It could be you or your kids that are killed by some hungry animal that has lost his habitat to your house. I like the animals more than most people and I still hunt them and eat them. Turn the clock back 100 years and how would you have survived?

Hi andy_o,

I understand and respect what you are saying. But the truth of the matter, at least in this case, is no matter what our behavior.....the anti's will never respond with logic. The fact is for the most part....that the cats are losing their fear of humans....because they are "not being hunted". And the anti's are responsible for that specifically...as well as "putting the animals well-being ahead of humans".....at any cost. Because they are directly responsible for this change in behavior...it would be no less than fitting that they bear the brunt of it. And I have no qualms about voicing that opinion. (As they would say....can't blame the cat...for being a cat!) And I would much rather it have been someone that voted for the lion hunting ban...than someone that voted against the hunting ban, or a child that didn't vote at all. That's the truth and I could care how many antis know it. Wasn't it PETA's president that made the famous quote, "a rat, is a dog, is a boy" (or vice versa)? The insinuation being that none of the three were any more "important" or worthy of life. Well....."a deer, is a pet dog, is an anti-hunter". I don't see the contradiction, mean spiritedness, or the moral difference!

Besides, it wasn't a licensed "human" hunter that killed the biker.....it was one of nature's little creatures that committed the mayhem. Any anti should have felt honored to make such a sacrifice for the poor misunderstood lion. Privileged indeed!

P.S. And at this point of the discussion I do not know the political leanings of any of the victims. If they were indeed not "antis"....I offer my deepest sympathy to the families. If they were antis...poetic justic. Cause and effect. Consequences for behavior.

Take your pick!

I heard about that attack. Its more south from me but too close to home. I do remember hearing about a mt. lion that came down from the nearby mountains and terriozed college kids because of the school's location. No humans were attacked but it did kill a few cats and dogs. Well dogs at least because there is an bike path that goes down the river in which the mt. lion came from. Took the animal control and local PD to dart the sucker.
