Default Texas Exotic

Just got back from a Bowhunt to finish a video we have been working on for almost 2 years. Hunted a 4200 acre ranch for what was supposed to be a excellent place for Axis Deer. Well, saw no Bucks of any kind in 5 days of hunting but did get lucky my 4th evening & take this Mix Red Sheep/Corsican Ram.
25 yard shot & he went down in 50 yards (all on film). Not what I drove 25 hours to hunt but since It was the only kill from 5 hunters plus 2 that had just left b/4 us I am thankful.
Good luck to all in the remaining season.

S.W. Texas. About 45 min. N of Del Rio & Mexican border.
Rolling hills , rocky ravines & small trees & brush.
I have Bowhunted 4 different parts of Texas & am amazed at the difference in terraine the state has. Of course everyone NOT from Ill./Iowa thinks we have nothing but flat ground & corn fields. Where I live we have some pretty good thick timber, high bluffs & steep ravines-especially along the Mississippi River.
Still have my Iowa tag but did miss a big P&Y 10 point. have passed on more Does than I can count & many smaller Bucks.
Good luck to all who have not filled their tags yet.
Merry Christmas & hope you & yours have had a blessed year as our family has.

ahunter where you hunted is less than probably 50 miles from where my ranch is. I am glad to see there is still lots of game down there. Not to long ago the area was threatened with anthrax (not terrorists, a natural kind that stays in the soil and comes up and kills deer and other wildlife)
