I saw the short range weapon requirements listed. But it does not say what weapons specifically. Archery is the first thing you think of, shotguns next. muzzleloaders used to be a short range weapon. Does it require open sights?

Good luck!

I am not sure about the sights. I’m using an open sight on both the shotgun and the muzzleloader.

Yesterday, I was at the spot, and I had a run in with a 3’ long rattlesnake, rattling it’s tail at me, about 6 feet away from where I was standing. No joke. It scared the daylights out of me.

I need to be more careful if there are rattlesnakes around, I don’t want to be bitten.

I have to admit, I am a little scared to go back to the spot if there are rattlesnakes there.

They can bite you but they can't eat you.

They're everywhere you go. Just continue life. Always be aware of your surroundings. At the grocery store. At the gas station. At church. While hunting. Life is dangerous and rattlers aren't the only thing that bites.

Keep at it.
