Default Thick, wood-land mule deer tips.

Hello everyone.

Im a self taught hunter and very new to the realm of hunting. I live in the cariboo region of British Columbia and the terrain is very dense forests and I'm having trouble locating deer. I've found a few promising places to hunker down before sunlight but am having a hard time getting deer to my location. I have grunt calls and bleat calls, as well as scent blockers. Just looking for some helpful tips thatll help me get my mule deer this year.

Thanks in advance for who can help!

I am not familiar with the area you are hunting, I have only driven thru area once in my life, in 2013 on the way home from Alaska. I would concentrate on agricultural land areas myself, parks in the forest, Mulies may bed down in denser brush during the day, but usually come out in the evening to more open areas, usually you can get up above these areas and do glassing, a lot of glassing, locate animals, then attempt to get closer. I would put the grunt calls and bleat calls away. Ignore the sales man on the outdoor stations. Lastly, talk to a wildlife biologist up in BC who works in the area, I am sure there is one working for the province somewhere close to you.
