In reference to archery hunting Oregon.
If my dad drew an archery elk tag for a controlled unit, like Sled Spring, but I did not... just so I can hunt and be around him, am I allowed to hunt general season bear in that same unit with him even though I wont have an elk tag? I am not finding anything in the regs that addresses this. I guess the question is basically, is the unit "controlled" or just the specific species?

I can't answer that but you could just leave your sporting arms at home and go with dad just to keep him company and help him if he is successful.
