tipping for a drop camp?
I went on a successful drop camp for elk a couple years ago and when we were packed out the guys seemed to be expecting a tip. They did give us some good advice on the way in and my brother and I both took a bull. I hadn't thought about a tip at that time but we gave them something ( I don't remember how much). There were 3 guys that helped get us out on the outfitters horses.
Is there any kind of standard for tipping a drop camp?

Here's a thread in this forum a page back: http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/big-...ing-guide.html General consensus was 15% of the cost of the hunt, 10% to the guide, 5% split up between the wrangler and the cook.
A drop hunt you have no guide or cook so I'm guessing 2 1/2% (the wranglers share) of the cost would be right. The reason I say that is I'm assuming the wrangler packs you in and out and sets up the camp. Wouldn't hurt to ask the outfitter whats appropriate
