    decided about 2 weeks before OTC elk season to buy a tag.

    the rest is history...290 inch public land bull

    Nice bull. My best bull in CO came after I decided to buy an OTC the day before a season opened a few years back. Took a 1 day trip to a local area and pulled a big 5x6 off public land at daybreak. Never discount the power of luck! LOL
