Question Bear Hunting

Any areas in NY,NJ,PA or Connecticut that support bear population. I don't want a guided hunt. Also I would like to hunt on public land.Any help appreciated.

Happy Hunting

Just an observation, but you obviously have access to a computer. The game dept of every state in the nation have websites that show what is legal to hunt and what the pertinent regulations are. suggest you spend a few minutes looking up the info. That way you get the correct info.

Most hunters are really quick to provide help, but there are some basic things you need to do for yourself. For instance, I know off the top of my head that PA, NJ and NY all have some bear hunting. Can't say for sure if CT does. But why should I bother to look it up if you're not. For what it is worth, if you're in NY and you want to hunt bear, ME and NH would probably be better bets.

I have to agree. These are basic questions that you can do for yourself. It's part of hunting.

I'm always suspicious of posts with such broad questions demonstrating zero knowledge of the topic. I feel like we are all getting our legs pulled.

Like asking if there are any good places to fish along the Gulf coast.

I can answer that! Nope, no good places to fish down there. I caught everything when I was stationed in Pensacola! Not a fish left in the Gulf of Mexico!

Well there goes that fishing trip to Destin I had planned.
Did you leave any ducks to come down the Mississippi flyway or should I just blow off LA too ?

Destin is a really nice area. When are you going and what are you going after? My wife and I used to spend some time there. Didn't do much duck hunting while I was there. Too busy chasing hogs! So you should have some quackers left.

If you get down towards Pensacola hit the New York Deli on Cervantes St. Great food! Everything homemade! ALso worth your time to hit McGuires Irish Pub and if the mudbug season is in full swing go by Cubs Crawfish and get 10 lbs of mudbugs to snack on while relaxing with an ice cold brew. I enjoyed my 4 years on the Gulf Coast.
