Question Is moose or elk hunting allowed in NJ PA or conneticut

I want to hunt Elk and Moose but I don't want a guided hunt or shooting on private land or a game farm. I want to shoot on public land. I believe guide takes all the learning and experimenting of hunting. Anyway any state land offer these species?

I'm sure if they offer tags that they'll be really hard to get.

Better to come out west for elk.

There's moose a bit north of you in Maine.

No wild moose or elk in PA that I know of. Historically, wild moose have been exctinct in PA for about 150 years.

Elk were also killed off in PA but they started to reintroduce them in 1913. I doubt you're able to hunt them. They're just there to look at.

PA has elk but it takes a long time to draw.

Good to know! I know we have an elk herd of over 800, but I couldn't find any info on hunting them.

Have you ever hunted in PA? Read the book they give you when you buy a license. Has some good information in it.
