I had one of Jack's books. If I remember right. He used the 130gr Partition to kill about anything offered in the US.

Jack liked the 130 grain WW Silvertip too. So do I. Wish they were still making them. My supply is getting low.

This topic got me curious and I found out Nosler makes a 160 grn Partition bullet for the 270. Just makes things even more interesting. :s4:

Barnes used to make a 180 gr roundnose SP in .277.

Another great bullet that is no longer made. Bummer.

That one was great for short to medium range elk in the timber.

They do for the reloader. As far as I know, no ammo comes with it.

I too like the Winchester silvertips of yesteryear, I loved the 150 grn. in my .300 H&H they were used for everything including elk and after killing 17 or so not one of them asked to be shot with a bigger gun nor a heavier bullet.... I have to admit this has been a very entertaining thread....... hey boys and girls here is a novel concept, try and listen to the folks that hunt elk every year for food...all these folks on TV and in the books are in it for one reason and that is $$$$$$$ they have something to sell one way or another.... I get so tired of hearing ......well it's marginal at best with a well placed shot....folks that is the whole point... A WELL PLACED SHOT!!!!!!!!!!!

It has been entertaining indeed. It's fun to discuss a topic like this and learn.

Bravo FinnBear.

Couldn't have said it better myself. So I won't try.
