I thought readers might be interested in pictures of game I took while hunting with BC Safaris out of Deese Lake, British Columbia. While the moose is just a ' nice moose,' the caribou was simply awesome.
Weather on this hunt was the worst I have ever experienced on a guided hunt. It started raining the first day, and continued to rain off and on for the next six days. Then the weather got better. It changed to snow.
I had hoped to get a mountain goat on this trip, but we seldom saw the top of the mountains. They were constantly socked in with clouds, making visibility near zero. If you can' t see them, you can' t hunt them. All in all, this was a great hunt in superb territory.
The weather left me questioning why I hunt at all, but I came to the conclusion that I was still having a great time, in spite of conditions. My friend, Larry, took a caribou that was pretty nice, and had a number of opportunities at nice bull moose, but never connected. I guess that is why they call it hunting.
