In the hands of a person who can get close and can shoot straight once he gets there.

I completely agree.

***Don't know where you got those figures, but they are not accurate and at 200 yards the 30-30 still has close to 1000 ft/lbs of energy, which is more than enough to humanely take any deer with a hit in the boiler room!

Not quite. Hornady 160gr FTX Leverevolution. Lets not use a 100yd zero. Lets use 3" high at 100yds. Well within the kill zone. At 200yds it would still be .020 high. It would also have 1300fpe. More than enough for a bull elk.

Why shoot at 200yds? Be a hunter instead of a shooter, and get closer.

Nope there has never ever been an elk killed by a 30-30 rifle

30-30 bullets on the other hand have killed too many to count!

I think it takes both of them to get the job done.

A 30-30is so worth less it shouldn't even be given to a kid to shoot tin cans with. Probably be disappointed that all the cans would roll away.

30-30 is so worthless even chipmunks laugh at the guy carrying a Winchester 94 in the woods.
