Default What to use for Bear bait

Hello everyone. Have a quick question about bear bait. I have drawn my bear tag for 2013 and looking for suggestions on what to use for bear bait. Last time in 2007 when I had my tag we used pastries and some kind of liquid to make soft serve ice cream. Anyone have anything they think works good. Thanks in advance.

Good idea. Then you have snacks in your tree stand.

Popcorn with grease mixed in with it and those pastries should do the trick!

What would be considered meat based. Here in wisconsin we can't use meat. But that is a very interesting study.

Pastries, granolla from the feed plant, pie filling, jam. Getting the idea? Sweets are a popular bait. Meat is also a good way to go. But then you seem to draw more wolves to your baits. It's always better to avoid temptation whenever you can.

Good luck this season!

I didn't get a chance to go last year (2012) eventhough I had a tag...I was busy barely got a deer. But this year I will be out hunting more!

I hear getting old bread such as discounted/expired bread works really good. Bakery's usually have them pretty cheap...
