That's why they call it "rut-crazed"! The same thing happens many times when a boss gobbler gets wacked during hunting season and the "younguns" beat the heck out of him as a payback!!!

Not to sound like macho man, but I would have picked up a big stick, and beat the young buck off. If it attacked me i'd shoot it. More meat.

Pete---They shot that nice buck up in the NF adjacent to property they own. There were does in the area during the rut and obviously that was bringing the buck in near the property. When they got that buck down out of the NF above their place some does brought that smaller buck by and he got into it with the dead one. If you did what you stated, it would be a good way to get gored to death with the npower they have and that live buck was pretty decent with some long points! I got this information off another website, as the video has been going around the net for awhile now.

Getting gored would be the reason I could shoot it.

Of course my way is not sensible, but I have a short fuse in situations like that. All I would think of is I could beat it off, and it would run off.

Maybe that's a good example of why we can't hunt deer in the rut here.

Ya I had that happen to a whitetale I shot like 11 yrs ago. When I got up to him hed been Gored so bad there was hair everywhere.

Thats insane! Got some cool video of it thats for sure. Thats one of those stories you have to see to believe.
