Default Anyone been out for 1st elk in CO?

Went out with a buddy Saturday from about 5am-7:30pm, saw absolutely no animals. Went again Sunday from about 4am-2pm to the same general area. Saw 1 small spike bull, a Muley buck and a small cow. Tried to track the cow down, but where we were at there is a lot of dead fall and hard to move through the woods quietly. Going to head out tomorrow morning at 4 and spend the last day trying to fill my either sex tag.

Anyone else been hunting in CO and had any luck or even seen anything? A lot of people around haven't even seen any elk.

I am going to start a new thread related to this subject.

My hunting buddy from Durango found zero elk in GMU 75 where there is usually elk. The grass had recently been grazed over by a large -- several thousand head estimated -- flock of sheep on the national forest land. These sheep ate up ALL the food elk like, so the elk went elsewhere. My buddy heard no shots whatsoever. This is highly unusual. He attributed this situation to the elk. He had scouted over labor day weekend and seen both sign and elk. We are hoping this is a one-of and not the result of changed national forest grazing rights policy changes.
