I've lived in Montana for 20 years and have never hunted antelope. I drew an archery permit this year and season opens next wednesday. Bow sighted in out to 80 yards. Hope I can find time to hunt working 2 jobs.

Before I was just working 1 job but also going to school full time. Now working the 2 jobs to pay off school. Between that and family, hard to get a lot of hunting time.

you may be able to get much closer than 80yds during bow antelope...

a blind...

stalking/decoying...

I practice that far but have never shot at an animal with a bow farther than 45 yards. I'm comfortable out to 50 so that is what I consider my effective yardage to be.

Thanks. Season opened today, but I have to work. Hopefully I can get out this week. Rancher is keeping an eye on the area and will call me when he sees some good groups of antelope.
