Talking Elk Hunt and a .500 S&W Mag.

I am going on a early December Bull Elk Hunt with a T/C Encore .500 S&W Mag. 15" barrel using a Cast Preformance 500 gr. WFN GC. Velocity: 1775 f/s; Energy: 3497 ft/lb. I will be using a Weatherby Mark V .340 Wby. Mag. using a 250 gr. Barnes "X" Velocity: 3062 f/s; Energy: 5204 ft/lb for the long shots. Wish me luck!!

With that kind of fire power you should be hunting T-Rex.

If that TC is anything like my S&W Revolver you should have no problems as far as power-wise taking an elk with it, I took a BlackBear with it and it left a hole about the size of a softball clean through him... good luck on your hunt

Did you get one? I shot a small bull with a .41 mag about 10 years ago.

Muley Hiunter:

I am not sure I am stuck in the hospital and cannot figure it out now. Good luck.

Randy_a:

I had a bull tag, and all we saw was cows. Good luck.
