I think my Browing A-Bolt stainless stalker with a composite stock in 7mm Rem Mag is a good elk rifle. Taken 4 bull elk in the last 4 years with it along with 4 mule deer 4 whitetails and a bunch of pigs.

I have mine topped with a Nikon Monarch 4-12x 42mm objective that I think works pretty good too.
