Default Elk, St Patty's day photos

We went out for a short walk the other evening to take some elk photos. This group was about 30 minutes from the cabin.

They moved off slowly after they spotted us and I had time to take plenty of shots before it got too dark.

The next morning there was another group across the pasture from the cabin. That is Archuleta Mesa in Dulce, NM in the background.

Thought you might enjoy some spring elk photos!

I agree. Elk are a great animal and even pictures get me going.

Very nice. I never get tired of looking at elk.

We have a nice herd by my town too.

Thanks everyone! I'm still getting the hang of holding the camera still enough to get sharp photos in low light. I need to get one of those tripods that double as a walking stick.

Why is there a gate and fence, are you raising cattle? Or is it to protect your property? Just interested because I like cattle ranches.

Thanks
