Did you watch it? Was it worth seeing?

RE: National Geographic Hunting in America

Yeah it was certainly worth watching as it opend my eyes to the anti hunting mentality at National Geographic. Sent them an e-mail voicing my disgust at the show and that they will be getting none of my money again. Every segment that they showed they tried to bring out the anti side of hunting. Even had other hunters badmouthing other hunters. Made a point to show the last guy missing an elk and trying to find blood. The disgusting acts of cruelty to animals were also portrayed as hunting and could not have been farther fom it.

Someone said that it will be on again Thursday. You should definetly watch it. Just try not to shoot the people through the T.V. Send them an e-mail too if you feel like I do.

Basically it was a crock of @#$%.

Here' s the e-mail they sent back to me.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting the National Geographic Channel. We appreciate your feedback and take all viewers' comments very seriously. Your comments have been forwarded to the producers of Hunting in America.

Our purpose in producing and airing Hunting in America was to provide various viewpoints on what hunting means in this country, not a complete debate - but its important to show opposing sides. We feel we created a balanced look through the stories of hunters and anti-hunters in the U.S. Many hunters, anti-hunters and general viewers have expressed their thanks for showing a balanced view of hunting. National Geographic has no particular bias in either direction.

I apologize if you feel we depict cruel acts in a manner to stir opinion, that was not our intent and our producers will certainly examine the program in that context.

If you have any further concerns or questions, please feel free to email [email protected] - we truly appreciate all correspondence.

Sincerely,

Haven' t seen the program, but I would like to make a few comments

Even had other hunters badmouthing other hunters.
Is this any surprise? Iv' e seen enough hunter bashing right on this web site

Made a point to show the last guy missing an elk and trying to find blood.
That has to be a pretty common thing in the hunting community, or am I going to be the only one to admit I' ve ever missed?

The other thing that I wanted to say is that I really don' t feel that anti-hunters are what us as hunters have to worry about. The hunters worst enemy is other hunters themselves. We are our own worst enemy, it' s sad

I' m definitely going to check out the show. I' ve always admired National Geographic. I can tolerate opposing view points but if they are using material that hunters don' t support as our view point then they will recieve an e-mail from me. And yes hunters " bash" each other a little on this board but this is the proper forum for that. In front of a camera is not.
