308 or 300-WSM? Flip a coin.

Most eastern Canadian hunters use .308 or 30.06 for Moose.Eastern Moose aren't as big as you'd think. A .375 will blow a 10lb. roast out the other side. If you need to,take the .300WSM just in case for a back-up,but I'll bet you don't need it.

I think you'd be fine with the .308 shooting a "good" 180 pill

Why b/c it's a bigger bullet? Pretty obvious you havelittle experience with larger calibers b/c if you had, you'd know this statementholds no water.I've been around more then just a few canadian moose kills and found the ones we "cannucks" most commonly use (.277 to .308 cal) waste more meat then larger calibers (assuming apples to apples on shot location). Don't get me wrong I'm not saying anything bad about these "common" cals, rather just poking a hole in your theory about losing meat...as I haven't experienced it.

In regards to which one assuming all are as deadly in your hands, no real wrong choice. I have always been a fan of the .375h and seen first hand how it works on NA game. However the 300wsm loaded with a premium bullet will keep you covered be it short or longer shots and seemsa logical choice.

I used a 30.06 on my Newfoundland hunt. Shot was 228 yards.

The guides were laughing, one evening in camp, about how American hunters come up there with these big magnum rifles. They said that they would rather see a guy come into camp with a .270, 30.06 or .308.

They said that a big majority of the hunters that come to camp with a big cannon, can't shoot it. Some can, but most can't.

They said when a guy comes with a smaller rifle, they feel better because usually that guy knows how to shoot it.

Just passing on what we were told when we went.

Any of the others you mentioned will waste more meat than a 375 will. Especially the 300 super pooper. Its a big old ugly bullet workhorse of a bullet that will plow thru anything this continent has to offer. I am going antelope hunting with mine this year.
