Wyoming' s doe/fawn antelope and cow/calf elk are at a reduced rate where they have too many in a few areas. I think they' re very reasonable for non residents. Too late to look up the prices tonight for ya. Tough to draw sometimes because of the price. You have until next year to check it out, ' cause I think you' re too late to apply this year.

Cheap, out of state, and exciting don' t normally run in the same circles. Do you have any freinds, family, or acquaintances that live out in the " excitement zone" that might be able to fold you in under their wing?
Good Luck,

If you are going to do it yourself you can pretty much hunt just about anywhere in the lower 48 for $1600.00. An OTC bull tag in Colorado is $483.00 then add in your food, gas, supplies and you could certainly come in under $1600. Split it with a buddy (highly reccomended especially if you have to pack one out) and it gets even cheaper. There are plenty of national forest and wilderness areas in Colorado. If you do your homework you can certainly get into some good elk and away from the people.
If you already have your tent, cots, sleeping bags, cooking stove, knives etc... then your well on your way already.
