Just bought one you know with this ultramag craze going on, gets the juices a flowing. Is this enough gun for Whitetail, Mule Deer and possibly Black Bear?

Heavens yes. There ain' t much you can' t take with a 338 UM. You should be able to easily take down anything in North America including most SUV' s. Have fun with that thing!

Execelent caliber,you' ll love it...

From most of the things I' ve read about the .338/.378 (I' ve never shot one), they are pretty tough to shoot without a muzzel brake. That' s an awful lot of gun you' ve got there! If you can tame it, I would think you should feel pretty comfortable shooting at almost anything in the world, except maybe some of the really grouchy African critters.
