Default .300 WBY MAG.

Is .300 WBY Mag. enough for elk and bear? s it too much for whitetail? What caliber do you recommend?

I think its a fine caliber I use either a 300 ultra mag or 7mm ultra mag I don' t think you can ever have too much power

The 300 Wby. Mag is a very good choice, and will do a very good job for you. Good luck.

Elk and bear...good choice! As for deer you might be a little over gunned...[]

Excellent caliber for the game you mentioned. If you can, check the ballistics and you will be impressed. Good luck.

Its plenty for elk and bear, you should have no problems. It will easily kill a deer but the reason PaJack says you might be a little overgunned is they have tendancy to ruin a lot meat if you hit a bone structure. Just a lot of shock for deer sized game. But you hit em right and you won' t have any problems.

The 300 wby is an excellent moose and elk cartridge. The only reason I sold mine was that the weatherby rifle didn' t provide the accuracy I demanded. However now that I own two 300 ultramags I prefer this cartridge over the 300 wby as it produces more velocity at equal pressures.

.300 Weatherby is most certainly adequate for anything in North America. I wouldn' t trade mine (Rem 700 Classic) for anything. I do handload for it, so I tone it down some for use on whitetails.
