Deer or Bigger, What Is Your "Closest To Home" Kill?
Since there is another thread circulating that covers how far from home, here's one for how close to home.... need something for everyone.
(1) What state?
(2) What distance from your house was the kill spot?
(3) What deer size game (or larger) that you killed?
(4) What weapon did you use?
Nebraska, back in my ranch days.
About 170 yards from the house.
Buck deer (gasp).

15-25yards from side of house went in the woods to sit after school when I was 14
.54 cal muzzleloader

1) in Iowa
2) 4 blocks from home
3) very large whitetail buck
4) Frito-Lay step van
Not sure how many points he was. By the time I got back to him some had cut off his antlers.
Several thousand $ damage to the truck.
One very upset boss.

I will answer for my wife & I.
Myself:
What state: Montana
Distace from my house: about 400-yards.
What game animal: Whitetail doe.
What Weapon: 375-Remington Ultra Mag. Might be a little big for youir average deer rifle, but I was bored & wanted to try something new.
My wife:
What state: Montana
Distance from house: Shot from inside the house, buck was outside near an apple tree, 25-yards from the coffee pot. Buck died 70-yardsfrom the house.
What Game animal: Whitetail buck, scored 125 and some change. (this buck is entered in the pope & young record book.)
What weapon: Hoyt compound bow, 75-grain Muzzy broadheads.
P.S. My wife loves living on the river bottom.
