I was just wondering if anyone has hunted deer (or elk for that matter) in the southern part of the book cliffs in the last few years. I should get a tag this year based on points and was wondering what anyone has seen in terms of size of bucks, herd size, ect. I know the herd has been making a steady come back since they shut that area down a couple years ago, but it has been years since I have been there. Any info would be great.

Haven't hunted there but I've taken a couple of photography trips and you should have a shot at a least a 28" buck. Took photos of a few and got one 30"+. There were deer all over the place, should be a fun hunt. Lots of problems with poaching down there right now though. Hope it doesn't have a big effect on the area. I was at the very southern end of the unit out of Green River. Good luck.
