Calling all Elk hunters . . . which magazine??

I enjoyed reading a couple of old copies of Bugle on the way out to Colorado this year. Some good stuff in that mag and I think I'll subscribe.

But doesn't that mean I'd have to join the RMEF?

Hey Goosehunter . . . good advice on the arrows quip. I rate my arrows from 1 - 5 when practicing and this past archery season I noticed my number 1 arrow (first to shoot) had a slight split in it by the insert. It is now my #234.

The RMEF is the #1 conservation organization for keeping us land to hunt on. That's not a bad group to be a member of. Their Bugle magazine is hands down the best about elk that I've come across.

I like what the RMEF started out to as. Much like Ducks unlimited, & The Wild Turkey Federation it has gotten way off track. I saw a year or so back that the RMEF was Auctioning off a Winter Range hunt to the highest bidder. Tell me how that is good conservation.
Too much of the money donated or raised is spent to pay large salaries, and for the huge building they built. Every year a smaller and smaller percentage actually goes to conservation.
I dropped my membership a couple years ago and I will not go back unless they change their ways.

I like Bugle, but don't jointhe club for Shatos reasons.
But though I like Eastmans it is pretty unrealistic in your average hunt. Though many are public land bulls they are like 1 in a million draws. Average Bull in Eastmans is probably 350, hardly "normal."
