No . . . you'd better just give it to me.

Yes!
But I'd stick with a premium 180 gr round for all. You get real familiar with how it shoots. It's plenty to knock down big animals and won't tear up the smaller ones.

I have killed almost everything on your list, to include a60"+ moose with my A-bolt 300 WSM. It is plenty for everything you listed. The only thing I would want to step up would be on dangerous game. I would ideally want a .375 for a big brown bear.

Ballistically speaking its pretty much the same as the .300 Win Mag, and that is definately enough gun for the animals you have mentioned. Would agree with the 180 grainer previous recommendation. The only noteable difference, affecting this cartridge, betweenthe WSM and WinMagis the case length. The .300 Win Mag can handle longer bullets than you will want to stuff in your 300WSM, otherwise it will work about the same. You stuff to long a bullet into the WSM, and you will start losing case capacity.

All the big game you listed have been successfuly hunted with the 30-06 for well over a hundred years. This would mean that the 300 WSM would work equally well as would the 300 WM or Weatherby version. If recoil was no issue, I would buy a 300 Win Mag and never need any other rifle for big game. With decent hunting skills and shooting skills, the rifles grom 260 on up will all handle those hunting chores. If I were hunting mostly Grizzly and or Brown and Polar bears I opt for the 375 or 416 Rem or Rigby. I would hunt anything with the 300 Mag as I would the 338 because having used both, I can't see any advantage of the 338 overthe 300's. The 375 is another story though, thats a step up big time.
Use your 300 WSM with a good 180-200 grain bullet like the Nosler Partitions and you will never need anything else.
