Yeah it's a shame the Park Service has proposed to spend 17 million dollars
to hire snipers to cull the herd in RMNP....I'd pay for a tag to hunt there.
Would not even call it a hunt, more like a harvest...

Pretty animal, but he is a youngster. He should be shedding out, or done. It is amazing how many huge bulls you can see in the park and such a shame you can't hunt them. Some of the best bulls I have seen in the park are along the road or up the headwaters of Timber Creek.

Sitting on the front lawn of McDonald's at the entrance to the Grand Canyon.

What a sight, 2 bulls both well over 350 and it was the end of June. They still had some growing time left.

took this ( and a bunch others ) this spring. down in Park County, about 2 miles from my house. Driving down the county road and saw some white butts go up through the tree's , drove in and around and found 4 bulls all togther...could have cared less if we were there taking pictures.
One is even a 3 legged elk. neighbors said they have seen him around for 2 years now.
I don't care how much we see them, its still a rush getting to see the elk.

Yup, anytime I see elk it is a good deal. I will even go to the zoo just to get my fix.

OP, nice pics.
