Like if a grizzly were after you say a 300 RUM? Just trying to fire you up a bit.
Yep... That'd do the trick... (note that I was one of the guys arguing in favor of the RUM as a grizzly/brownie rifle).

If I was after something that might get really mad and eat me, I'd probably have to buy something larger than any of the current residents of my safe.

My favorites are: .270 for Deer,Black Bear, Antelope, etc.,.338 for Elk, Moose, etc., .22-250 for varmints, and a .458 for critters that weigh over a ton and are closer than a 100 yds!

Yeah, I remember and I was on the other side. I did learn quite a bit from that discussion. You seem like a good guy I was hoping you would go off on how the 300 RUM took out a blue whale or something J/K with ya.

30-06 -Old Reliable, takes care of elk at 500 yds and not to much bullet for deer. With different grains and designs you can find a lot of wiggle room in the 06 family of ammunition based on what you are doing

You know... they say that it was a giant asteroid that caused the extinction of the dinosaurs... I think it was the .300 RUM.

RE: Whats your favorite caliber?
270 Winchester, i have used this caliber for 13 years and have never needed anything bigger for everything up to and including canada moose! I am only now experimenting with a 300WSM just to change it up and already it has accounted for one doe, one bull elk and one bul moose, not a bad start.
