In 3-4 weeks the older cows will start to cycle, let the games begin!!!!! I have my bivy setup ready to rock and roll. Antelope hunting will be much easier this year for me with a new 4 wheeler. I can't believe that I bought one, but I was getting tired of a 6 mile walk across the desert...

Gears ready, calls are working, clothes are bagged, now the hard part, WAITING! Come on Aug. 25th, but it will be a weird start the full moon falls on the 28th of August. They may go nocturnal for the first week. But thats ok I know how to deal with that too.

How many of you are getting into shape for your elk hunt? I always enjoy the hunt more when I ain't feeling like a tired ol' man all the time. Finding that energy to check that next ridge, or to not worry how far the horses are, is real impotent to the productivity and enjoyablity of the hunt.

It ain't the sexy stuff, but the most impotent piece of equipment you own might be your running shoes.
