a lot of elk areas are better draw for nonres. than for residents. becuase at $46.00 anyone can afford a elk license, even the welfare people!
we need about a $100.00 elk tag for residents, my chance for a good tag would go way up!

pretty much all true on what you hear. There are late season whitetail tags offered for saratoga valley (platte river) and there are some really nice whitetail. There are a few ranchers that allow access and other outfitters are just starting to hunt them, also up around wheeatland is really good place for whitetail too.

Question for anyone knowledgeable about Wyoming elk draws. Next year, I'll have two elk points going into the draw as I'm hunting CO this fall and am just accumulating points. With two points, do you think a person could draw one of the areas such as 7, 24, or 100?? Or are we better off putting in for a general tag?? We definitely want to hunt next year for either bow or rifle in Wyoming.

A general tag is your only sure bet. I'm not sure about area 7, but bull tags are dang hard to draw for 24 and 100 even for residents.
