Calling all Cougar Experts
My buddy in southern West Michigan found these tracks in his driveway. We are thinking it's a cougar, any thoughts?

I am not an expert but don't cougersretract thier claws when walking? I think I see claw marks on some of those pics. It might be wolf or a dog?

RE: Calling all Cougar Experts
Its not a cougar appears to be a large dog. Most likely a rot or mastiff.

RE: Calling all Cougar Experts
Those are definitely dog or some other canine tracks.

I also think that cougers walk\stride isdifferent too. I mean their one paw is allot closer to the rear on the opposite side. Again I am not an expert so I stand corrected if wrong.

RE: Calling all Cougar Experts
I've seen a lot of mountain lion tracks over the last 8 years while hunting elk. I even called one into 15 yards. I would concur they're a large dog.

RE: Calling all Cougar Experts
Yeah, clearly a dog. Claws and longer than it is wide.

RE: Calling all Cougar Experts
It is not a cougar. Canine definately.

RE: Calling all Cougar Experts
Its a canine and the dog isn't as big as you may think as the tracks in snow melt faster (especially on concret) and making it look larger than it auctually is and its stride is too close for a large dog. Probably a medium size mutt.
