Bare butt bear
 

This is a bear that was coming into the bait site last year. Looks pretty good size. Do you think he scratched off his hair from bugs?

HAHAHA.. .what a great movie..... I heard stories about a bug/insect that could attack the hair and leave large bald spots.... i'll try and research it and post something.:eek:

I think it might be Scabies where the hair is attacked at its root by a mite.

Looks like mange to me. I've seen dogs w/ mange and it's like that, but never seen so big a spot affected.

I think he just has a great sense of humor!!! All his friends were in the bushes laughing at you as you were taking the pictures. Do you feel em-bear-assed?

hey dan you know enough about bears any clue?? I have never seen anything like this b4..(except for the shooting lamp on the great outdoors) ha,ha.may be some sort of disease the bear has.

i saw something like that a few years ago on espn outdoors. the bears in the ocala national forest in fl looked similar. i belive that it was mange
