Yes, as posted above, everyone pretty much has it covered.

The meat is used primarily to feed local villages, and as a form of payment to the trackers, gun bearers, skinners etc etc that comprise a safari staff.

Despite what PETA would have you think, elephants are overly abundant in Africa. As are Leopards.

We just did an elephant hunt last year with a bow and I can tell you exactly what it weighs (or at least on ours). The above mentioned items were 32 lbs.

There's a story behind this hunt and pictures. The story may be too long and the pictures too graphic, I'm not sure.

And James B., no it doesn't taste like chicken.
