Successful Polar Bear trip....
#1
My dad and my older brother just came back from Arviat, where they were polar bear hunting. My dad had the tag, my brother was there to do the filming. My dad took a 9'3" bear on the third day of their hunt. Live weight was estimated to be somewhere in the 800-900 pound range. Skull was 26", one inch short of Boone and Crockett.

he was shooting a .338 mag. Thought about bumping up to a .375 but the .338 did the job well. I believe the tag for the bear ran somewhere in the $18,000-$20,000 US dollar range.

Congrats to your dad and brother! That's one heck of a nice bear. Did they use dogs on the hunt, or hunt over bait or just spot and stalk? One of my goals in life is to down one of them with a bow, but it ain't gonna happen for a long time with that 25K price tag.
Great pictures, that's gonna make one nice mount!

Arctic; the majority of the hunt was done with dog sled.I think they saw 10 different bears the one day. That's a lot of bears. He had an excellent trip from the sounds of it.
