Succesful Moose hunt(pics)
Well we went out yesterday hoping to fill my dads moose tag and well we did. He ended up shooting him right at 9:00 in the mornin(bit later then expected). The thing was that he shot it about 300yds on top of a hill, which made it a pain in the butt to get out(approx 3hours to get him down to the road which was just at the bottom of the hill he shot him on.)which my dad couldnt even help us with cause when he went up to gut him at the bottom there was lots of muskeg and he got his foot caught and pulled his groin.So the guy in the pic posing with the moose is my cousin(the one that still has to fill his mulie buck tag in 326) Plus on top of it the quad only had 1/3 tank of gas which we forgot to check before we left. All i have to say is good thing there is reservoir tanks on them.But all in all between the 5 of us that were out there we seen about 15 moose 7 elk and 7 whitetails so there is tons of game so hopefully we can fill a few elk tags since we know that they are back in that area.Oh and the moose measured 40 1/4 inches across. Not a trophy but its still meat in the freezer,lots of it too.
