Cabelas Elite Scout/Daypack series
#1
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has a Cabelas Elite daypack? I'm thinking of buying the larger size but since I can't see it in person I'm a little hesitant. Just wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts on them. How big is the smaller size? there is no cubic inch information on the website. Any info would be great thanks.
In case you don't know whether or not you have a Cabelas Elite you can see them here:

I have the smaller version of the two shown...
Would you like it? I guess that depends on what you want in a back pack and the purpose you want to use it for.
I use it for elk hunting where I don't want to carry a big load all day.
The small one measures 17" x 9" x 4" and lists cubic inches between 850-1050.
The large one measures 20" x 11" x 5" and lists cubic inches between 1250-1500.
Hope that helps.

Hey thanks that does help alot. How have you found it to be a good pack for just hauling general elk hunting stuff?I mean I'm sure I'm not using it for anything different than you are. Just hunting. I'm trying to compare that pack vs. the Kelty Red Fox.

No experience with the Kelty, which by the way looks like a good one. It seems like back packs are over priced to me. This smallerCabelas pack has served me well. I would have to say that I am happy with it.

Yes it does look nice. It also has several features that the cabelas does not. It actually has aluminum internal stiffener bars that sort of act as an internal frame that you can remove if you want. I thought that was kind of cool, not to mention the hydration bladder setup.
