i have shot one with my rem 30-06, but that should increase this fall with the sucessful draw.

One bull to date with a .300win mag.

2 - Cows +1 Mulie doe - 30.06

2 - Cows 54 Cal Hawken percussion

1- Bull - .300 wsm

All one shot kills and complete pass throughsexcept on one cow. I used a Cor-loct that hit the shoulder, went into the neck and I had to give a finishing shot. Mind bulletconstruction

Only had a chance to Bow hunt last year (Close but...well you know).
We'll crank it up again this year.

2 bulls- 270 150 gr. partitions both with in 150 yards, no pass through
6 cows- 270 all but one with 150 gr. partitions, one with 140 gr. fail safe and all at 200 yards or less, only on pass through, the fail safe
2 cows- 300 win. mag, 180 gr. partition, both 200 yards or less, both pass throughs

and now I archery hunt them!!

I'm with ya on that bowhunting,I had hunted deer witha bow but never a elk(and me being a Montanan),the rifle was always the way to go.
I took it up last year after a 7 year hiaetus,and man I tell you what I can't get enough.I just bought another bow a 80+ lb Tribute,now everyone is accusing me of using TO MUCH bow.Kinda like magnumitis,never have enough.

I have to admit, this will be my fourth season of bow hunting elk, and I have yet to kill. It seems that my buddys, on the other hand, kill on the first day or two and I spend more time packing out meat than I do actually hunting!! Of course last year, I spent too much time chasing antelope when I should've been in the mountains, BUT I finally got my speed goat!!

I do miss rifle hunting with all my relatives. We were always, and they are still, very successful, BUT there's something about archery that I can't get enough of!!

Too much bow, not hardly possible!! Not enough bow, on the other hand!!

I am STUCK to my bowBut hunt just as hard with other methods. hard to believe this will only be my 6th season coming up( started early 30s)

I have hunted elk 4 times and have gotten 3 elk. A 5x6 bull and a cow with a 30-06 Fed High energy 180gr Nosler Partitions. A cow with 300 Win Mag with Rem 200gr Swift A Frames.
