Need some Colorado info
I have the chance to go archery hunting in september around grandby, and the rest of the units in the area I think that they are 17,18,171,181, and was wondering what the quality of the bulls in these units are and are there large numbers of elk.
Thanks

RyanH,
Have you tried the CO Dept. of Wildlife web page? They have a listing of harvest stats from last year at least, if not earlier years. It is broken down by overall harvest, archery harvest, muzzleloader harvest and rifle harvest. Check that out and see if it helps.

I hunt 181 for deer. I see lots of elk sign, but no elk. My understanding is that it is mostly due to time of year. I've heard of guys taking elk there but I don't think it's known as an elk unit.
The best idea is to check the DOW stats. They are pretty good indicators.
Good luck!
