I do have a .338 Win Mag (never shot anything with it)
I do have a .311 Canadian Imperial Mag.......(never shot anything with it)

IFfolks have actually shot ellk with one, AND
IF it is their current favorite elk rifle,
THENthey can sure sign up here; however,
Out of 82 actual elk hunters reporting,the .308 hasn't made the cut yet....
Some talk of coulda, woulda, shoulda, mighta, oughta but no players that are takers on the .308 as being their current favorite elk rifle that they have actually taken elk with.

I'm betting there are some .308 owners out there in the Magnum ranks; however,that is entirely different from voting it one's current favorite elk rifle that one has actually taken elk with.

Kind of an "been there and done ittalks" and "wishin' walks" kind of poll, though we have had some first timers choose their elk weaponry based in part on what they see going on here --- and others not.

Again, this poll isn't me, it is the viewership (that has actually hunted elk and have a favorite elk rifle).
