I took my bull with a Remington 700 bdl chambered in 338 win mag. Load was 225 gr. nosler partition over 75 g. H4831sc, win case, CCI 250 primer.

Dad took his with a 338 Ultra.

I was able to take my first bull this year. I shot him with a T/C Enore at 90 yards. I was shooting 348 grain powerbelt aero tips over120 grains of Pyrodex select RS. The bull ran 75 yards. My buddy shot his with the same setup & dropped him dead in his tracks, at 40 yards.

My cow fell to a 100 grain thunderhead on a pse carbon force arrow outa my 65 pound pse beast compound bow at about 40 yards. She went maybe 60 or 70 yards and that was the end of the road for her.

This is a great post! I filled my tag with a .416 Rem, 300gr X at 2,850 fps. I don't know much about archery or muzzy hunting, but for the rifle guys, this post shows once again that the guys(& girls) that are actually out filling tags are going to the larger bores. 14 responses for centerfire. Two rifles below .30-06 (.270 & .280) ballistics. A few RUMs and .338s also!

.270 Win
.280 Win
7mm Rem
.300 Win x 4
.300 RUM
.338 WM x 3
.338 RUM
.375 RUM
.416 Rem

My Bull fell to my 7 mm Rem mag at 23 yards. 160 gr. Nos. Partition.

I was wishing that I had taken my Bow when he came in. The best part was he was still comeing in when I took him.

My first elk hunt was in colorado this year and on the first morning I connected with a nice 5x5 bull at 181 yds. He fell toone 180 grn. barnes triple x bullet out of my remington 700 in 30-06. Excellent bullet performance.
